Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teachings

Nominations are open for open for the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST)!

The Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST) are the highest honors bestowed by the United States government specifically for K-12 science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) teachers. Recipients of the award receive a $10,000 award from the National Science Foundation, a paid trip to Washington, D.C., to attend a series of recognition events and professional development opportunities, a certificate signed by the President of the United States, and an opportunity to build lasting partnerships with colleagues across the nation.

The 2019-20 PAEMST awards cycle is officially open for both nominations and applications at www.paemst.org. Teachers of grades K-6 who are employees of a public, charter, or private school that have five years of full-time employment as a teacher, and teach students at least 50% of the instructional time are eligible to apply. Applications are due May 1, 2020.

Nominations can be made by anyone – principals, teachers, parents, students, or members of the general public. The following information is required to nominate a teacher: teacher’s name, email address, and school contact information.
