The AMDPA High School and College Student Symposium<https://us-west-2.pr
AMDPA is committed to reaching out to young professionals pursuing careers in the areas of healthcare. Whether you’re a student exploring the field of medicine, pharmacy, dentistry or a young professional recently starting your professional journey, AMDPA is here for you.
Designed for young professionals, the Symposium is a half day event that focuses on strengthening the leadership skills of young professionals currently enrolled in high school and college who are considering careers in the area of healthcare. This is a unique opportunity to participate in a wide-range of lectures, hands-on break-out sessions and networking opportunities from top doctors, pharmacists, dentists and other healthcare professionals to gain insight into the different career opportunities available. Students will also be provided with tips, tools and resources to sharpen study skills needed to succeed; and explore options in higher education. This symposium will also provide students with the tools necessary to decide if a career in healthcare is right for them.
During the symposium students will have an opportunity to interact with other high school and college students and healthcare administrators who can provide vision and leadership that promotes academic success such as study skills, self-monitoring and goals setting. In addition, academic, financial and personal counseling are available, upon request.
AMDPA works in close partnership with the UAMS Center for Diversity Affairs and Inclusion Office to fill the STEM achievement, research experience, and mentoring/networking opportunities through their outreach programs. For additional information on summer outreach opportunities and internship programs contact UAMS directly at (501) 686-7299.
