FOURTH ANNUAL MAKER FAIRE SET FOR MAY 12
Interactive festival celebrates innovation, creativity;
makers invited to share their creations

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – April 4, 2018 – Glimpse the future and get inspired with the Arkansas Regional Innovation Hub at the fourth annual North Little Rock Mini Maker Faire at the North Shore Riverwalk on Saturday, May 12th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Admission is FREE for all attendees.
Maker Faire is a gathering of fascinating, curious people who enjoy learning and love sharing what they can do. This all-day event combines science, art and technology to celebrate do-it-yourself creativity and tinkering. Part science fair, part county fair and part something entirely new, Maker Faire is an all-ages gathering of tech enthusiasts, crafters, educators, tinkerers, hobbyists, entrepreneurs, engineers, authors, artists, students and commercial exhibitors. “Makers” like Grav Weldon, Bryant Phelan, Jon Hatton, Randi Curtis, Diamond Bear Brewery and Flyway come to Maker Faire to show what they have made and to share what they have learned.
“The magic of making will be on display at this fun and interactive community event,” said Dr. Christopher Jones, executive director and lead maker at the Arkansas Regional Innovation Hub. “We are thrilled to welcome young people of all ages to celebrate Arkansas makers. The fun of making is contagious, but it isn’t just for fun; it’s critical to the innovations and entrepreneurship that grow the Arkansas economy and make our world a better place.”
Modeled after the original Maker Faire – known as “the Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth” – the North Little Rock Mini Maker Faire is a family-friendly festival of invention and resourcefulness featuring: powertool drag racing, robot wars, drone races, rockets, DIY science and technology, alternative energy, bicycles, unique handmade crafts, music, educational workshops, installations, demonstrations and local food, such as Kathmandu Momo and Loblolly Creamery.
