Come get reacquainted with GLOBE protocols, mobile Apps, and get involved in NASA Mission Data Collection – SMAP, Calypso, and other programs. https://www.globe.gov/globe-community/globe-communities
This workshop will explore the GLOBE program (http://www.globe.gov) and include:
- connections to students, teachers, scientists and other citizens from 121 countries who conduct real, hands-on science in their communities
- grade level-appropriate, interdisciplinary activities and investigations aligned to national and state educational standards easily integrated with curriculum
- scientific topics that vary in complexity, relating to the atmosphere, biosphere, hydrosphere, pedosphere, and Earth as a System
- an accessible platform for teaching hands-on science, inquiry, observation and data collection
- practices of science including data analysis, critical thinking, collaboration and communication
- a springboard into research for science fair projects, afterschool activities, and honors projects
- opportunities to collect and report data in conjunction with current, ongoing NASA missions
Each participant will receive:
- Break snacks and lunch
- 5 hours of ADE-certified PD
