The Junior Science and Humanities Symposia (JSHS) promote original research and experimentation in the STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) disciplines at the high school level and publicly recognize students for outstanding achievement in these fields. By connecting talented students, their teachers, and research professionals at affiliated symposia and by rewarding research excellence, JSHS aims to widen the pool of trained talent prepared to conduct research and development vital to our nation. The Arkansas Regional Junior Science and Humanities Symposium (AJSHS) serves as a regional qualifier for the National Junior Science and Humanities Symposium (JSHS) and is typically held the 2nd full weekend of March  each year on the campus of Arkansas Tech University.
