Who Can attend: All Arkansas students currently enrolled in 8th – 9thgrade
Students will attend the following session:
Aquatic Biology Blitz – Join students from ASMSA’s Research in the Park course to explore a nearby stream. Learn how to measure and interpret important chemical and physical parameters such as pH, dissolved oxygen, temperature, conductivity, turbidity, and nutrient concentrations. Then be prepared to get wet as you wade into the stream to sample aquatic invertebrate organisms such as mayfly, caddisfly, and stonefly larvae and learn how these organisms can be used as indicators of stream health.
