The Science and Engineering Institute @ Fayetteville

November 3, 2018 @ 9:00 am - 12:30 pm

- Free

Students will attend the following session:

From the smallest to the LARGEST…

This Institute will look at the two ends of the size continuum. One activity will focus on one of the smallest fundamental quantities, Planck’s Constant (a decimal point followed by 33 zeros and 6.626!). We will measure it using LEDs and a voltage meter. The second activity will focus around the “Pale Blue Dot”, and we will create a scale model of the Solar System, using a marble, and discuss the vastness of the Universe, literally “billions and billions” of kilometers!
