In this session, we will discuss how we can engage students by showing them we care about them as individuals and not just as a test score. I will share a few examples of students who have improved their performance in school when a teacher takes a vested interest in them as a person. When teachers consider the way individual students learn and make the effort to use the student’s strongest learning styles and improve the weaker learning styles, students will be equipped to perform well on assignments and tests. Students who are part of a caring teacher’s classroom will be more inclined to become engaged learners.
