The mission of the Kessler Mountain Outdoor Classroom and Nature Center is to raise the
next generation of conservationists through outreach, research and education. The outdoor
classroom offers hands-on activities in the nature center and guided hikes on the 0.6-mile
interpretive loop trail at the base of Kessler Mountain. Activities are curriculum-based, and
field trips typically last 3 hours, concluding with a picnic lunch (provided by the school).
Teachers attending this half day morning session* will be trained in co-leading a field trip
and have the opportunity to schedule a FREE field trip for the 2019-20 school year. While
this session is geared towards 3rd-6th grade teachers, any K-12 teachers is welcome to
attend. *Lunch is provided (homemade pizza cooked in an outdoor oven!). $10 fee
