2nd Annual “Math in the Picture” Contest

To enter the contest you will need to submit a photo (it can be one you have taken, something you designed, or even an image offline).  When you submit the picture you should include an explanation of the mathematics behind the picture. The pictures will be printed in poster form, so please make sure to use a higher resolution on the photos so that they will be visible for the judging. Both the explanation and the picture should be included on the poster.  Only one submission per person. Pictures and explanations should be submitted to Dr. Hurdle by email at [email protected] no later than November 1, 2018 so Dr. Hurdle will have enough time to get them printed and posted for the judging, which will be held on Nov. 8 from 2-3:30. You do not have to be a math major to enter the contest. Anyone can enter. The images will be voted on by faculty and students that attend the event on Nov. 8. Anyone is welcome to attend the event. You do not have to be present to win. I have attached a few images from previous submissions as examples. The explanations do not have to be this complex. These are only examples.
