How does the AR STEM Speakers Bureau work?
- The AR STEM Speakers Bureau is an online database that serves as an intermediary to connect Arkansas educators with volunteers who can speak about STEM education and careers. The Arkansas STEM Coalition and AR STEM Speakers Bureau are not responsible for directly “matching” speakers and educators.
- If you are interested in becoming a STEM speaker, you will fill out the speaker information form. After a review and, if needed, a background check you will be added to the database so that people can make speaking requests directly to you. If you hold an Arkansas Educator license, you will not need a background check.
- If you are an educator, you can use the database to search for a STEM speaker. You will be responsible for reaching out the speaker (please use their preferred method, if indicated). All speakers either hold a current Arkansas Educator License (checked through AELS) or have had a background check through the Arkansas State Police background check process. You can read more about that process here.
- If you have any questions, please contact The Arkansas STEM Coalition.
